The Little Things

Mountain flowers dot landscape;

An flurry of life in times of plenty.

Cool water flows in abundance;
Giving flowers full life on the Creator's easel.

Fall folliage signals the end of Summer;

A brilliant display of dancing colors.

The Pica hurrys among the Lupine
To put away for the long Winter.

High country seasons are short;
Harsh storms waiting their turn.

Hailstones and early snows;
Blankets that hide living gardens.

The Bear scurries to his Winter Den;

The great Shaggies seek lower ground
Avoiding deep snows that hide their food.

Summer lakes hidden by Nature
Are covered and chilled until Spring.

Our final excursion until the Spring thaw
signals the approaching Summer.
